The Werk serves and supports eight different universities in Cologne: University of Cologne, TH Köln – University of Applied Sciences, German Sport University Cologne, Hochschule für Musik und Tanz, Academy of Media Arts Cologne, CBS – International Business School and Catholic University of Applied Sciences of North Rhine – Westphalia (Campus Cologne) and MU - Media University of Applied Sciences.
The Werk is led by the Managing Director Jörg J. Schmitz. He represents the Werk in judicial and transactional matters and oversees the budget. Moreover, the Managing Director assists the administrative board in an advisory capacity. Mr Leppi is his permanent deputy and also Head of Internal Service (Personnel, IT, Finances).
The Werk finances itself primarly through rental incomes from our residence halls, canteen revenues, the students‘ social contributions, subsidies granted by the Land of Nordrhein-Westphalia and BAföG-funding. The Board consists of four students, a member of an university, two employees of the Kölner Studierendenwerk, one member of an university‘s rectorate or executive board and one person with relevant expertise or work experience in the economic, legal or social field. The Board decides on the budget.
