You can eat and drink affordably in all our cafeterias, bistros, and coffee bars and refuel for your next session at the university. Sustainability, current dietary trends, and regional sourcing play an important role in planning our offerings. In all cafeterias, bistros, and coffee bars, you can pay with a checking, credit, or debit card, as well as with Google Pay or Apple Pay.
As of September 1, we’ve implemented a new concept in the dining halls with two key changes.
1. You decide for yourself what goes on your tray using a modular system. This means you choose your main course(s), side dish(es), or dessert(s) and pay only for the items you select.
2. At the same time, the prices for the individual modules are changing. Prices are determined by a dynamic calculation method based on the respective cost of goods sold. Prices for the meals – which remain heavily discounted – may therefore either rise or fall.
Update as at 24 September 2026:
Unfortunately, an implementation error occurred with regard to side dishes when the price calculation system was introduced. The change was intended to be price-neutral. However, during the implementation, the previous fixed prices of €0.65 and €0.95 were retained for side dishes. This resulted in an increase in prices. We sincerely apologise for this error! For technical reasons, the new pricing structure cannot be applied to the side dishes – and, by extension, to the soup dishes – until 1 October.
To compensate, we are offering students and staff at universities a 10 per cent discount throughout October 2026. The discount applies to main courses, side dishes and soups in the canteens. The salad bar, drinks and special offers are excluded.
