We celebrated World Health Day with a delicious highlight at Mensa Zülpicher Straße: a vegan yellow Thai curry with colorful vegetables and tofu!

Holiday season specialties

We take a look back at our festive holiday season specialties, with mouthwatering dishes to suit everyone's tastes. In the run-up to Christmas, our guests were able to look forward to a new culinary discovery every Wednesday, accompanied by a salad and a yuletide dessert. Every creation offered a unique culinary experience, with specialties ranging from hearty beef roulade with hazelnut spaetzle noodles and Brussels sprouts, to vegan stroganoff with potato gratin and salad, and winter roast stuffed with a baked apple and minced meat filling, served with dumplings and red cabbage. The crowning finish was vegan sweet potato gnocchi with pumpkin, mushroom ragout, arugula pesto and salad.

Goose to go

We take a moment to gaze back at our festive “goose to go" offer — your stress-free holiday meal for four people. If you ordered in advance, you could get a carved goose with red cabbage, potato dumplings and roasted apples. By picking up your order the day before Christmas Eve and heating it up according to the instructions, you could effortlessly serve a festive goose dinner with all the trimmings for you and your loved ones. Good for the goose and for the gander!

Alpine chalet banquet

Our Alpine chalet banquet whisks you off to a wonderful world of Alpine delights. Guests were treated to vegetarian dumplings, hearty onion roast beef on giant rösti and vegan ravioli served with lamb's lettuce. To top it all off, guests were treated to our homemade Kaiserschmarrn pancakes with cranberries and apple sauce.

Oktoberfest

Our Oktoberfest puts you in the mood for genuine Bavarian festivities. Guests feasted on hearty Leberkäse with fried potatoes, served with sweet mustard and coleslaw. For those who prefer plant-based delicacies, there were vegan cheese spaetzle noodles with a mixed salad. Another highlight was the half pork knuckle in malt beer sauce with sauerkraut and mashed potatoes.

Brain food

Exam week — smart snacks for sharp minds! In selected bistros and coffee bars, we offered a wide selection of memory-enhancing dishes to keep you fit. There was everything from apple and lentil salad and porridge with berries and seeds, to rolls with either hummus and sun-dried tomatoes or avocado and cream cheese — for a big boost of energy and healthy and nourishing alternatives to keep you focused!

Asparagus days

Gazing back to our asparagus days, when we served gnocchi with fresh asparagus ragout, braised cherry tomatoes and wild garlic oil. To finish it off on a sweet note, we offered semolina pudding with strawberry and rhubarb compote.

Wednesday is Fry-Day

French fry lovers loved Fry-Day Wednesday! Our guests were treated to regional steakhouse fries, accompanied by pulled turkey (also available in a vegan version, of course), nachos and coleslaw.

BBQ-Week

An overview of our BBQ Week, where bratwurst was just the beginning! We opened the barbecue season with spicy meat, juicy burgers and crispy potato skewers. Highlights included BBQ pork neck steak with coleslaw, grilled potatoes and sour cream, Irish beef burger with caramelized onions and house fries as well as Cajun style chicken breast with a potato skewer and salad. #morethansausages

Tex-Mex weeks — Viva la Tex-Mex

And who could forget our Tex-Mex weeks, where we celebrated the ideal fusion food? Favorites included BBQ chicken and cornbread, pulled pork and nachos, steakhouse fries and chili — in short, Tex-Mex.
