Neue Stadt, neue Wohnung, neu an der Uni: Bald beginnen die Vorlesungen des Wintersemesters 2026/27 und viele Erstsemester, Uni-Wechsler oder Internationals lernen das Leben als Studi in Köln erstmals kennen. Ganz schön viel Neues auf einmal und gar nicht so einfach, wenn man noch niemanden kennt. Die Aktion "Eat & Meet" des Kölner Studierendenwerks nimmt sich jetzt dieses Problems an. Wer keine Lust hat, alleine in die Mensa zu gehen, kann dort zu Semesterbeginn an den mit "Eat & Meet" gekennzeichneten Tischen auf andere treffen, denen es genauso geht. Und schon hat man ein Gesprächsthema und kann neue Leute kennenlernen.
Ab dem 14. September sind die gelb markierten Tische in den Mensen Deutz, Südstadt, Gummersbach und Leverkusen zu finden, ab Anfang Oktober auch in der Mensa Zülpicher Straße.

A new city, a new flat, starting university: lectures for the 2026/27 winter term are about to begin, and many first-year students, those transferring from other universities, and international students are experiencing student life in Cologne for the first time. It’s quite a lot to take in all at once, and it’s not that easy when you don’t know anyone yet. The “Eat & Meet” initiative run by the Kölner Studierendenwerk (Cologne Student Services Organisation) is now tackling this problem. If you don’t fancy going to the canteen on your own, you can head to the tables marked ‘Eat & Meet’ at the start of the term to meet others who feel the same way. That gives you a conversation starter straight away and a chance to get to know new people.
From 14 September, the tables with the yellow signs will be available in the canteens at Deutz, Südstadt, Gummersbach and Leverkusen, and from the start of October also in the Zülpicher Straße canteen.
