maximum rental period

The rental contracts are concluded for a period of one year until the maximum duration of three years is reached, provided that the tenant complies with the contract. By limiting the duration to 3 years, as many students as possible should be offered a favourable place in a dormitory (Rotation principle).

A prolongation for one year over the maximum period of three years can only be grandet to those who

  • has applied for the final part of the examination procedure at the time of expiry of the contract,
  • participated contructively in the administration of a student residence during the rental period (e.g. administrative assistants, tutors or floor representatives) or
  • would be unreasonably burdened by the move and can prove this (e.g. acute illness, but noch financial reasons or housing shortage of the city).
