It’s about the journey, not the destination
Support during the writing process

Are you currently working on your BA or MA thesis and getting stuck? The aim of this course is to help you successfully advance your writing project and better overcome any problems that arise.

Course content overview

The course “Support in the Writing Process” is aimed at students from all disciplines who are writing a thesis this semester. We help you find the right strategy for your problems. You can also exchange ideas with others about the writing process. Mutual support in writing crises has a relieving and motivating effect. Your topic should already be decided at the beginning of the course!

We will accompany you during the writing process, starting from the current status of your assignment:

  • We will discuss the basics of the writing process and time management.
  • You define your tasks for the next two weeks.
  • In small groups, you reflect on the implementation of your plans.
  • Inhibiting factors such as uncertainty, procrastination, fears, blockages, etc. are discussed and suitable solutions for overcoming them are sought.

Wednesdays 9:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., every two weeks, 7–8 in-person sessions

Start: April 22, then April 29, May 6, then every 14 days May 20, June 3, June 17, July 1, July 15, July 26

Service building of the Kölner Studierendenwerk, Universitätsstraße 14, 3rd floor, room 3.1.

A preliminary discussion with the course instructor is required. Please register early for an appointment, as places are limited.
